Eco-Diver Initiative

We strive to provide our services in the most environmentally friendly way possible. Our goal is to promote sustain diving and snorkelling practices to reduce the impact on the marine environment.

From our zero single use plastic policy, and ban of harsh cleaning chemicals in the dive centre and onboard our boat, to the eco-products we sell in our shop, we are trying our best to help the environment and show a good example to out guests.

We provide free drinking water from our dispensers for you to fill your new Bahura Dive refillable bottles, and have a strict no single use plastics policy when it comes to the refreshments we provide.

This is also the case when diving. We have a strict no touch, take or damage policy and provide check dives for all our guests to help them perfect their buoyancy before diving the sensitive reef habitats.

We follow the PADI AWARE 10 tips and the Green Fins code of conduct and encourage our guests to do so via our dive briefings.

Turtle Photo Identification

Have you photographed a turtle during your dives with us? How about that photo contributing to turtle population research?

You can help researchers at LAMAVE Reasearch Institute Philippines better understand the distribution and population trends of turtle species, just by submitting your photos to us and we’ll pass them on.

The photo must be of the left side of the head, where the unique ‘finger print’ like scale pattern will help researchers differentiate and identify individuals. Join our in house Marine Biologist for her Turtle Talk where she will explain all you need to know.

Beach Cleans

Once a week we gather as many people as we can to help clean up plastics and other debris from the local beach.

Removing the washed up trash will stop it from being washed out to sea again when the tide rises, helping to reduce the amount of trash in our oceans. All trash collected will be reported on the Clean Swell app so that data can be used for research for tackling the problem.

This great activity for all ages and a great way to connect with family and friends. Each group will be provided with a glove and trash bag or box. Everyone who takes part will receive a free gift!

Underwater Clean Ups

Why not help to reduce the ocean debris problem while diving on the reef? Once a week we organise a clean up dive where participants receive a special dive rate offer.

Turn this activity into a full PADI certification with the PADI AWARE Dive Against Debris course taught by our in house Marine Biologist. Learn how to organise underwater clean up dives and safely remove trash from out oceans.

Back on shore we sort, weigh a report the trash to the Ocean Conservancy via the Project AWARE app. This data will add to a global database of ocean debris to try and tackle to problem.

This is a fantastic opportunity for divers of all ages to apply their dive skills to real citizen science. Let’s help clean up the oceans and help governing bodies find solutions!
